Transformation of a Former Mill
This project involves the conversion of a former industrial site into a residential complex. The river, once used as the mill’s driving force, still borders the property and contributes to the peaceful character of the site.
The homes are arranged around a shared courtyard that encourages interaction among residents. At the rear, green spaces facing the river extend the living areas and strengthen the connection with the surrounding landscape.
The existing buildings, protected as heritage, have been preserved in their original form. The structure—particularly the wooden framework—was retained as much as possible in order to maintain the authenticity of the site.
This respect for the existing structures not only helps tell the story of the site, but also contributes to creating a warm and distinctive atmosphere, where the old naturally converses with the new.
